You got a brief glimpse of a few very bloody bodies in bloody bandages lying to one side, and some green figures standing around a small figure wrapped in fresh bandages. And an elderly looking man, stooped and grey-faced. The goblins spy the coins and dash for them, while a bigger one roars "Intruders! Go for them - not the coin, you fools!" And the elderly man backs away, looking suddenly very frightened. "Stop them!" he says.

[2023/12/11 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: As you look at Boddyknock, you notice a rather nasty red patch appear on the bandages, as if it was covering a sudden wound and blood was soaking in.

[2023/12/11 16:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: His. The bandages aren't any use on Katana.
[2023/12/11 16:03] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shakes her head."Sorry, Not letting another necro issue happen." before taking off in the direction the old man went.
[2023/12/11 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: Debben, you have rope? We better tie these miscreants up.
[2023/12/11 16:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: Meanwhile, Dahlia can't help noticing the translucent dog is back - looking up the stairs and silently snarling.

[2023/12/11 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha is charging up the stairs, running after the sounds of panicked gibbering.
[2023/12/11 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's plenty of bandages - and piles of clothes - to fashion crude ropes. That's three bound goblins, and one bound and sleeping hobgoblin.
[2023/12/11 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: Meanwhile: Leesha bursts into what was once a rich bedroom, now quite decayed and unkempt. There's no one in sight.
[2023/12/11 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Other than an old bed, a few piles of fresh bandages, some typical furniture... not much to see.
[2023/12/11 16:09] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks around."Dude let's keep this simple. Don't care what you do after this point. Unwrap our friend and we will be on our way

[2023/12/11 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "Your friend? Oh. Him. You'll have to fight the spirits to get him back. The purse is on the nightstand, take it and go!"

[2023/12/11 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "The spirits haunting the basement!"
[2023/12/11 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: Meanwhile, the translucent dog looks at Dahlia, then back up the stairs, and snarls silently.

[2023/12/11 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: He's breathing, but very deeply unconcious.
[2023/12/11 16:15] Alicia Frakture: Leesha walks to the bed and Gently sits down on it to show she hasn't left yet."And how do we fight them? tell me that and you can keep the gold. If this is a trick..." She emphasizes this by adding a bit of pressure from above

[2023/12/11 16:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man squawks. "No trick! Just drink the potion, you'll be in the spirit realm, then you can fight them. I'll bandage you up, give you a fighting chance to rescue your friend!"
[2023/12/11 16:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: The translucent dog is glaring up the stairs, where the old man and Leesha went.
[2023/12/11 16:17] Alicia Frakture: Then you come down stairs and explain it to them. We can go from there... Look if this is legitimate there are no issues. Though I am curious why you all kidnapped him.
[2023/12/11 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "Because I need people to fight the spirits, of course!"
[2023/12/11 16:19] Alicia Frakture: Leesha stands up and motions for the man to come out."You hired goblins to kidnap people instead of say hiring someone? Come on we're going downstairs. YOu need to be there to bandage people right?"
[2023/12/11 16:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "Yes! Yes! I need to be here, how else can you get bandaged?"

[2023/12/11 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: Although the image of the dog has no actual form, Dahlia is sure she can feel it, and the tail thumping beside her. And the sudden wetness of a lick, but then the dog is snarling at the old man again.
[2023/12/11 16:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "How are we supposed to trust you after you're using goblins to kidnap our friend?!"
[2023/12/11 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "It's very simple... take the potion, I'll bandage you up, you'll be in the spirit world and you can slay the brutes and rescue your friend."
[2023/12/11 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "Errrrr...." his eyes grow wide and he stares at Debben
[2023/12/11 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana is not happy. "There is EVIL being worked here!"
[2023/12/11 16:26] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me she looked to the old man as she comforted the dog, "I think I trust the dog more than the old man"
[2023/12/11 16:27] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "And why do the spirit dogs dislike you? They don't mind us hardly at all."
[2023/12/11 16:27] Alicia Frakture: Yeah well if we are to rescue Boddyknock we need ideas." She looks at the old man."What kind of spirits? are they like the dog?"
[2023/12/11 16:28] Sonja Bikergrrl: The old man scowls and sighs. "Okay, okay... okay... I'll tell you. This is the Greyblight estate, a family of great warriors... and I was the youngest and weakest, despised by my family for my poor health and weakness."
[2023/12/11 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "But I got my own back... they had... unfortunate accidents... one by one... only the family dogs were left."
[2023/12/11 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "They knew it was me and they hated me! They chased after me... I ran to the basement, and as they ran in, I gave them the slip, and ran out, and barred the door, trapping them inside."
[2023/12/11 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "Over time, their barking grew quieter.. and fewer... except... it never -stopped-... and then the ghosts of the dogs came..."
[2023/12/11 16:31] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is profoundly unimpressed with this sordid tale. "I think I'm on the dogs side on this one."
[2023/12/11 16:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: "And I realized I needed fighters to fight them, keep them from me..." he pauses and looks at you, blinking fearfully.
[2023/12/11 16:32] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is just looking at him."Downstairs now. the dog is a spirit it can't hurt you... I on the other hand..."
[2023/12/11 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: Old man: He shrinks back. "Oh no no no no! I'm not going!"
[2023/12/11 16:33] Alicia Frakture: You go on your own or I carry you to the basement and we see what happens.
[2023/12/11 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: The old man screams and bolts for the stairs.
[2023/12/11 16:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben sticks the butt of her spear out to trip him.
[2023/12/11 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: He's quite old and very unfit and clearly not a fighter. Down he goes, with a scream of sheer terror.
[2023/12/11 16:35] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at the old man and then Dahlia."Can you talk to the dog. See if the spirits will release Boddyknock?"
[2023/12/11 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: The old man crawls aside quickly. "They're coming, they're coming, can't you hear them!" He's clearly in a blind panic.
[2023/12/11 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: And, now he mentions it.... you get a definite feeling of -something- coming up the stairs, it's like a cold breeze is blowing up
[2023/12/11 16:37] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me "Im not sure how to talk with the dog but I seem to be able to calm it , its a nice dog.", pets the dog, looks to the dog, "Can you understand me?"
[2023/12/11 16:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: The translucent dog looks from the old man with a snarl, to the stairs you all came up.
[2023/12/11 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: Any actions...?
[2023/12/11 16:40] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "For a man that killed his own family with treachery and accidents? I feel little reason to risk my health to save him. I am here, to recover Boddyknock from those who captured him." She addresses to the room, particularlly the approaching dogs. "Have at your former master, I just want my friend back."
[2023/12/11 16:40] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is going to block the stairs back up."OY spirits if you can hear me, I wanna make a trade! Our pal for the one who did this to you."
[2023/12/11 16:41] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smiles at Debben great minds do think alike
[2023/12/11 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: At about this point... about five rather large translucent dogs appear in the stairs, and pad into the room, walking through Leesha and glaring at the old man, with vicious silent snarls on their snouts.
[2023/12/11 16:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: The old man gives a shrill scream - clutches at his chest and just .... collapses.
[2023/12/11 16:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: any actions, anyone?
[2023/12/11 16:45] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is gonna check for a pulse, but since her medical experience is nil she is gonna hope for the best
[2023/12/11 16:45] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Watching, mostly. Do the five spirit dogs remain after the old man collapses?

[2023/12/11 16:46] Alicia Frakture: So she checks his elbow for a pulse
[2023/12/11 16:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: You check him... where you think there might be a pulse... nope, no pulse.

[2023/12/11 16:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: A faint translucent figure rises from the old man... looks just like him! He silent gestures and mouths ... things. You can't hear him.
[2023/12/11 16:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: Then... he looks round... the dogs....
[2023/12/11 16:48] Alicia Frakture: Leesha sees the spirit?
[2023/12/11 16:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: What happens next is brief and vicious, and, perhaps mercifully, quite silent. They leap at him - yes, you all see - and there's a brief flurry of canine forms piling onto the cowering figure.
[2023/12/11 16:49] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben looks away. Not because she's alarmed, but she wants to look around for if Boddyknocks spirit is somewhere around here and needs to be led back to his body.
[2023/12/11 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: Mere moments later, and it's just the ghostly dogs, fanning out and surrounding you, heads to one side, tails wagging
[2023/12/11 16:50] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She reaches out to softly pet the head of the nearest one. "Do you know where our friends spirit is?"
[2023/12/11 16:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dog leans in, clearly enjoying the contact, then it jumps up and licks Debbens' face. At that, the rest of the dogs crowd in, and everyone is licked and nuzzled - you can feel quite a quantity of dog lick, and you're whipped nearly senseless by ghostly wagging tails. One by one, they poof out of existance, the last dog giving Dahlias' face a big -lick-, and POOF... it too is gone.

[2023/12/11 16:53] Alicia Frakture: Are the Goblins still around?
[2023/12/11 16:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: They're tied up and trying to look like they aren't there.
[2023/12/11 16:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: The hobgoblin is tied and asleep still.
[2023/12/11 16:55] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "So. Now the Greymoss Estate is empty of it's last scion and currently full of hobgoblins... and us." She looks around the room appraisingly, keeping the hobs and gobs in view at all times.
[2023/12/11 16:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: Goblin: "Uhm... we no with these guys."
[2023/12/11 16:56] Alicia Frakture: Leesha walks to them growling."I'm going to untie you. You are going to unwrap my friend and then grab your buddy and run. Do you understand me?"
[2023/12/11 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins look to each other. "Maybe... untie us, you keep big greenie? He mean."
[2023/12/11 16:56] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We can unwrap our own friend. Don't have the gob do it."
[2023/12/11 16:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "...how mean of a greenie?" She adjusts the angle of her spear to point floorwards for a bit.
[2023/12/11 16:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: Goblin: "Very mean! He beat us! He do bad things. Always tell us what to do, always hit us!"
[2023/12/11 16:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana puts out a hand to stop Debben. "We should take that one to the authorities, make it answer for its' crimes."
[2023/12/11 16:59] Alicia Frakture: Leesha doesn't look back as she unties the Gobs."Run. Run fast, run long run hard or this big greenie will show you mean." Obvious to everyone in attendance this event hit a nerve with her.

[2023/12/11 16:59] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She side-eyes Katana for a moment. "The... authorities. You're willing to keep watch of them overnight until we get there?"
[2023/12/11 17:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins don't pause, they simply run down the stairs and far, far away. They may even live long, but, that's kinda doubtful.
[2023/12/11 17:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana: "It's unconcious, it's bound. It's no longer a threat. Either let it go, or take it to the nearest sheriff to deal with."
[2023/12/11 17:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Sheriff then. but don't be surprised when they make the same decision I was going to."

[2023/12/11 17:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: With that settled.... and with Boddyknock struggling to rise while wincing at the wound, it seems we have our cliffhanger. There's still piles on interesting things to look at yet, like the two chests, or the very ornate and very decorated spear propped up against a wall.
